A Better Way To Enjoy the Holidays…
I remember when I was in my 20’s I had 14 gifts to buy for Christmas. When I hear people, especially women, with a similar scenario I think this is one reason why it’s so stressful and hurts the pocketbook. In the last few years my family has had “Secret Santa” where each of us pulls a name and the budget is $50. (we even find out 3 gifts that person wants in the exercise). I also have accepted that my grown kids have their own spouses and kids and my home is not the center of attraction. All of this is OK with me now and the “perfect” holiday season has been reduced to just a little work and having fun! I hope this message resonates with everyone who feels they still have to have the perfectly decorated home, perfect parties and the perfect gifts. At the end of the day I’ve realized that less is more and filling the holidays with meaningful moments that fill the soul is the very way to have a joyful holiday season! Heather
