Hi Heather, greetings from Australia.
My problem is a little bit different. I am not over weight, except for my tummy. I would pass for a woman in the very last stages of pregnancy.
My doctor doesn’t seem to be concerned. So seems I just have to live with it.
Any shape wear I have tried makes no different. I have never tried “spanx
But don’t really know what size to get. I take a size 14 top and then have to get a size 16 for the bottom half. Do I get a size 14 or a size 16.
I am 68 years old. I certainly don’t expect to have a figure like my 18 year old self. Thanks Margaret

I have a larger tummy too and if I eat certain foods or a lot of water, I get bloated.
I think you need to go into a store when they open in your area and you feel it is safe. Since shapewear is so personal you need to try them on. I would suggest an all- in -one shapewear with straps that has built in briefs. I have one with a space for my bra to peek through. If you get just the briefs it will ride down and you will look even bigger. Get the more expensive brands like Spanx, the material breathes more and lasts longer.
Remember that you don’t need to wear these everyday.

I’d like to add, if you can buy an all-in-one shapewear with press buttons or hooks at the crotch, it’s better than the other kind that you have to remove your dress or jumpsuit when going to the washroom.
