To all the AWESOME MOMS out there, here’s my LOVE LETTER TO YOU…

Whether you’re a Mom over 50, in your 20’s, 60’s or 90’s as I’m a Mom myself I want to send out an attitude of gratitude.

Here’s to all the Moms who receive the frantic calls from babysitters, teachers and from the children themselves. The mother’s who assess the situation and drops everything to GO!  There is no overtime pay or compensation for lost time at work. Most Moms can’t remember a Christmas, Easter or Thanksgiving day off as they’ve lovingly prepared a dinner for the family. Many have spent endless hours in hospital waiting rooms cuddling with their child until they hopefully hear the words “your child will be OK”. As a Mom I know we have educated ourselves on illnesses, bullying intervention, nutritional meal planning, and kid counseling.

Moms won’t get a diploma to hang  on their wall or a better job because they are proficient at their Mom skills but to most of us, it’s all worth it.

I know I speak for many Mothers when I say that something happens to you when that little bundle is placed in your arms just after your child is born. They look up helplessly and melt your heart. You know you’ll make a life-long commitment, not because you’re consciously aware that you have to do it but because something magical has changed inside you,  an unconditional love as you are now a Mother.

So to all the Moms out there, thank you.

and… at this point I’d also like to say a thank you to my children.

Thanks for letting me know when it hurts, thanks for all the cherished hugs, sharing your dreams, growing up to be someone I’m so proud of, and finally… if you had a choice up there in heaven before you were born, thanks for choosing me.
